Skansen
2020-01-01 — 2025-12-31Did you know that in one tablespool of soil there are more animals, fungi and bacteria that there are people on earth? Biodiversity is endless and fascinating. Take a ride on Skansen’s escalator and come along on a journey from the bottom of the ocean to the flight of the urban pigeon over the rooftops.
How is biodiversity linked to our survival and how do we affect it through our way of living? The exhibition offers an experiental journey where you learn about nature’s diverse array of animals and plats, sea and land, as you travel further up the escalator.
After the escalator, which is 40 meters in total and takes about 80 seconds, you end up in the upper part of the hall. Here you can experience the spectacular globe that visualises in a new and exciting way the challenges the planet is facing. Take note of the information projected on the globe and get insight into the distribution of farming land, wild and domesticated animals, forest fires across the world and much more.
