Djurgården’s Christmas markets

Shop for the best Christmas presents, dance around the tree, warm yourself with mulled wine and eat all the Christmas goodies. At Royal Djurgården you will find not only one of Stockholm’s, if not the entire country’s, most famous market but also unique hidden gems. Here are the markets you don’t want to miss this winter. Skansen’s market since 1903
At Skansen you can experience a historic Christmas since 1892! Take a look into Christmas-decorated houses and farms, see winter-awakened animals, music and song, Christmas stories and crafts for the whole family. In 1903, the foundation was laid for the popular Christmas market at Skansen. Today, their Christmas market is filled with stalls offering crafts, Christmas gifts and lots of good food. Here you can also dance around the tree with Skansen’s musicians and Skansen’s folk dance team. A Christmas market that is a must every year and something that cannot be missed. Read more here.
Baltic traditions at The Maritime Museum
The Maritime History Museum invites Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania for their popular Baltic Christmas market on 30/11. The museum fills the entire house with high-quality Baltic crafts and delicacies. Also at the market, are Baltic descendants who have kept the craft traditions of the Baltic countries alive here in Sweden. A unique market where the countries are represented with food, crafts and activities. Read more here.
Crafts at Friends of handicraft
If you are looking for soft pats, you will probably find several when the Friends of handicraft school invites you to a Christmas market and open house on 30/11. The Friends of handicraft are celebrating 150 years this year and what better way to celebrate than to go through their history in their anniversary exhibition and then finish by exploring the textile talents of the future. Historic Christmas market
Between 30/11-1/12 you can travel back to Viking times when The Viking Museum invites you to a historic Christmas market. Djurgårdsstrand will welcome handicrafts, food and anything else you could wish for in a Viking-era Christmas market. There will also be viking music by the band Galt. So bring your loved ones and drink some mulled wine, mingle with Vikings and start Christmas. Read more here.
Djurgårdskyrkan- The city’s smallest Christmas market
Why not visit the market that the organisers themselves ; Djurgårdskyrkans vänner call ‘the city’s smallest Christmas market’. The market opens on Sunday 8 December at 12:30. Homemade juices and jams, different kinds of bread and cakes, knitted and crocheted items are sold. Take the opportunity to buy Christmas bread or perhaps a Christmas present!
Beckmans School of Design visits Rosendal’s Garden
Later in December, Rosendal’s Garden will be visited by Beckmans School of Design for the annual Christmas market 14-15 December. Beckman’s talented students who study design, fashion and visual communication take over the greenhouse with lots of unique Christmas gifts! In addition to a wide range of crafts and design, there will also be a winter bar, food in the café and an open shops. Read more here.
