This Year ASICS Stockholm Marathon decided to host their annually marathon on 9th<\/sup> of October because of the pandemic. The restrictions has disappeared and we can look forward to an event with both spectators on the street and runners who have been practicing for months.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Djurg\u00e5rden is always open for the public and especially when there is a folk festival in town. This is a day you won\u2019t want to miss! Therefore, we have compiled a list of different traffic information and how to best travel to Djurg\u00e5rden on a day like this.<\/p>\n

The start is situated right outside the red-brick 1912 Olympic Stadium on wide Liding\u00f6v\u00e4gen. The runners runs through the scenic Djurg\u00e5rden via Djurg\u00e5rdsbrunnsv\u00e4gen Manillav\u00e4gen- Djurg\u00e5rdsv\u00e4gen to Strandv\u00e4gen, Blasieholmen and then via Gamla Stan to Slussen.<\/p>\n

Hotspots<\/strong><\/h4>\n

You will find the hotspots right before and after Djurg\u00e5rdsbron, by The ABBA Museum\/Gr\u00f6na Lund, Djurg\u00e5rdsvarvet and by The National Maratime Museum. Here you can stand and cheer on your loved ones who participate in the race!<\/p>\n

Traffic Information<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On the day of the event on October 9, we recommend that you leave the car at home and choose public transport or\u00a0 perhaps walk or bike if it’s possible. There are lots of alternatives to get to Djurg\u00e5rden!<\/p>\n

Fancy a ride around the ferry?<\/h4>\n

Djurg\u00e5rdsf\u00e4rjan<\/strong>, SL’s ferry line 82. Djurg\u00e5rdsf\u00e4rjan runs between R\u00e4ntm\u00e4startrappan\/Slussen and Allm\u00e4nna gr\u00e4nd\/Djurg\u00e5rden<\/em>, Skeppsholmen. You can bring a bicycle on the boat if it is enough space for it.<\/p>\n

Sj\u00f6v\u00e4gen<\/strong>, SL’s ferry line 80. Takes the route Nybroplan – Allm\u00e4nna gr\u00e4nd\/Djurg\u00e5rden<\/em> – Saltsj\u00f6qvarn – Finnboda hamn – Kvarnholmen – Blockhusudden – Nacka strand- Blockhusudden – Liding\u00f6\/Dal\u00e9num – Frihamnen – Allm\u00e4nna gr\u00e4nd\/Djurg\u00e5rden<\/em>.<\/p>\n

M \/ S Emelie<\/strong> takes the route Hammarby sj\u00f6stad – Masthamnen – Djurg\u00e5rden<\/em> – Nybroplan.<\/p>\n

Why not take the metro?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Of course, the metro runs as usual, so why not take the red line to Karlaplan or \u00d6stermalmstorg and walk the last bit to Djurg\u00e5rden.<\/p>\n

How to walk from \u00d6stermalmstorg: From \u00d6stermalmstorg, go up the stairs that leads to Birger Jarlsgatan. Follow the road down to Berzelii Parken and then follow Strandv\u00e4gen all the way to Djurg\u00e5rdsbron. The walk takes about 20 minutes at a normal walking pace. You will be there in no time!<\/p>\n

How to walk from Karlaplan: From Karlaplan, go up the stairs that leads to the Karlaplan roundabout. Then follow Narvav\u00e4gen straight down to Djurg\u00e5rdsbron.\u00a0 The walk takes about 15 minutes at a normal walking pace. Simple and easy to follow!<\/p>\n

Once you’ve reached Djurg\u00e5rdsbron, you can always continue walking along Strandv\u00e4gen to Dag Hammarskj\u00f6lds V\u00e4g. It is a 20-minute walk that leads directly to Museiparken (Museum park) outside Tekniska museet, or a 5-minute bike ride if you choose to rent a bike from the Royal Djurg\u00e5rden Visitor Center. The visitor center is to the right, right after Djurg\u00e5rdsbron.<\/p>\n

Djurg\u00e5rdsbron – temporarly closed for car traffic\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Djurg\u00e5rdsbron closed to car traffic but you as a pedestrian are free to pass. The Djurg\u00e5rdsbron will be opened at 14:45. Some car traffic can take place over the Djurg\u00e5rdsbron by prior agreement.<\/p>\n

Tram Line 7 <\/strong>\u2013 <\/strong>Djurg\u00e5rdslinjen\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2022 09.46, the last tram leaves from the central station towards Kungstr\u00e4dg\u00e5rden.
\n\u2022 At 18.57, tram traffic will resume from the central station towards Djurg\u00e5rden according to the normal timetable.<\/p>\n

Buss Traffic\u00a0<\/b><\/h4>\n

\u2022 In Stockholm City, there will be major restrictions on bus traffic during the Marathon. Some bus stops are removed for the day or moved to a different loaction.
