Spring is finally here and we are leaving the cold and dark winter months behind us. After two years of a pandemic, it’s finally time to get back to normal. All the museums and restaurants will be open just about every day during spring.\u00a0 Below we have gathered some inspiration and tips on things to do this spring on Djurg\u00e5rden, as well as some tips on Easter holiday activities for the whole family.<\/h2>\n

A joyful Easter holiday<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Here at Djurg\u00e5rden, Easter is one of our favourite times of the year and we want to share that feeling with all our visitors. During the Easter week, there will be lots of fun activities to explore in all corners of Djurg\u00e5rden. Activities that will make all kinds of visitors, big and small, feel and share the same love for Easter as we do!<\/p>\n

Take the whole family on an Easter adventure at Junibacken<\/a> where there will be activities in the house with Mamma Mu and the Crow. Cozy up in the reading corner, do crafts in the Pavilion or go on a crow hunt. You can also meet Mummy Mu and the Crow who will be visiting Junibacken on Easter Sunday! There will be different theatre performances every day and if one of the kids show up dressed up, they will get a free Easter egg!<\/p>\n

At Skansen<\/a> you can take part in traditions in houses and farms, listen to legends and music, do Easter crafts or tie a broom.<\/p>\n

At the Nordic Museum<\/a>, there are several clever missions for children and adults to solve together in the museum: gather knowledge from the inhabitants of the Arctic in the exhibition Arctic – as the ice melts<\/a>, solve the mystery of the missing marzipan figure or follow clues and hunt for letters in the fashion exhibition ”British so into the Nordic countries”.<\/p>\n

An island of art and culture<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Djurg\u00e5rden is unique with its greenery in the middle of a capitol city like Stockholm. Artists have always come here to share or seek inspiration for their art, from Bellman and his songs to Prince Eugene and his unique way of capturing Stockholm on canvas.<\/p>\n

This long-standing tradition has, of course, contributed to Djurg\u00e5rden now boasting one of Europe’s most impressive art collections and cultural heritages. You can’t walk around the island without being greeted by a wonderful inner peace and tranquillity that makes you want to explore your own creative vein.<\/p>\n

Throughout spring there will be a continuous stream of new and interesting exhibitions in many of our museums. From the German-Swedish Ann Wolff<\/a>, an international award-winning artist known for her stunning glass artworks, to the French artist duo Pierre et Gilles and their exhibition “Troubled Waters”, which depicts the romantic image of the sea, the harbour and seafaring life.<\/p>\n

At the far end of Blockhusudden, you’ll find the hidden gem\u00a0 Thielska Galleriet<\/a>, considered one of Sweden’s finest art museums, with a unique collection of turn-of-the-century artworks by Edvard Munch and August Strindberg, among others.<\/p>\n

Gr\u00f6na Lund reopens<\/h2>\n

After a two year pandemic, we can finally say that our amazing Gr\u00f6na Lund<\/a> is opening again. On 24 April, the park welcomes you to a magical summer with many rides on their carousels! This year is also an incredible startup with concerts on the big and small stage with everything from Zara Larsson, Dua Lipa, Tom Jones, Ziggy Marley and more. You don’t want to miss it!<\/p>\n

A culinary journey<\/h2>\n

Did you know that the popular and tasty Hasselbackspotatisen originates from Hasselbacken<\/a> on Djurg\u00e5rden? Check out their menu<\/a> where Hasselbackspotatis is presented in a whole new way.<\/p>\n

Djurg\u00e5rden also has a wide selection of caf\u00e9s and restaurants. From the venerable W\u00e4rdshuset Ulla Winbladh<\/a> to the Michelin star restaurants Oaxen<\/a> and Aira.<\/a><\/p>\n

Now that the weather is getting milder, many of the restaurants are opening up. One not to be missed is the Bl\u00e5 portens<\/a> lovely garden lounge, which becomes a lively meeting place with a cosy 20th-century ambience.\u00a0 When the spring sun is at its strongest, how about settling down with a glass of wine or a snack at the Spritmuseum<\/a> restaurant while the kids sink their teeth into a ice cream cone.<\/p>\n

Along the Djurg\u00e5rdsbrunn canal you can find Villa K\u00e4llhagen<\/a> where there will be a nice garden hangout with a wide variety of music, ranging from Opera and Livejazz to a DJ with various guest artists.\u00a0 So bring your friends and enjoy the summer while listening to some really great tunes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
