Kick off the celebration early at <strong>ABBA The Museum<\/strong>. Warm up for the evening by singing ABBA karaoke, become their fifth member and\u00a0perform on stage together with ABBA\u00a0and test your ABBA knowledge in the museum&#8217;s quiz.\u00a0<strong>Nordiska museet<\/strong> is open all day and offers atmospheric tunes in the main hall, come by and listen to jazzy and classical music from the grand piano.<\/p>\n<p>Take a trip back in time on New Year&#8217;s Eve. <strong>The Viking Museum<\/strong> is open from 10 am to 3 pm, where you can learn more about who the Vikings really were and why they became both famous and infamous worldwide. Don&#8217;t miss the opportunity to take a journey in the museum&#8217;s Viking adventure, <em>Ragnfrid&#8217;s Saga<\/em>, where you can travel back to the Viking Age. On New Year&#8217;s Eve, the <strong>Vasa Museum<\/strong> welcomes you between 10 am and 2.30 pm. Come by and experience\u00a0Vasa, the world&#8217;s only preserved 17th-century ship, and gain a fascinating insight into Sweden&#8217;s history during this time.<\/p>\n<p>For families with children, there are fun options on New Year&#8217;s Eve, such as the children&#8217;s theater &#8220;Pippi moves in&#8221; at <strong>Junibacken<\/strong> and their fantastic story train, where you can dive straight into Astrid Lindgren&#8217;s magical world.<\/p>\n<p>With its 12,000 square meters, <strong>Tekniska museet<\/strong> has something for everyone curious. On New Year&#8217;s Eve, they are open from 10 am to 3 pm, and during the day, you can, among other things, you can join a guided tour of the model railway, see pop-up shows and experience space like never before. Step aboard the spacecraft <em>Wisdome Stockholm<\/em>, put on the 3D glasses, and get ready for an adventure through the Universe with a pilot and a navigator offering an amazing space show.<\/p>\n<p>Take a break from museum visits and visit <strong>Djurg\u00e5rden Church,<\/strong> which holds a New Year&#8217;s prayer at 3 pm. Enjoy a quiet moment with prayer, music and atmospheric songs.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>New Year&#8217;s Eve Dinner, entertainment and party<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hasselbacken.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Hasselbacken<\/strong><\/a> is the obvious choice when it comes to festivities and New Year&#8217;s celebrations, and this year is no exception. This year, Hasselbacken celebrates New Year with both a luxurious 4-course New Year&#8217;s dinner and entertainment by The Jets. At midnight, raise a toast for 2026 at the terrace with a fantastic view of Stockholm&#8217;s inlet. Skansen&#8217;s New Year&#8217;s celebration dates back to 1895 when the poem &#8220;New Years Bell&#8221; was first recited. The poem has become a Swedish tradition and is broadcasted every year on SVT, where the words &#8220;Ring, Bells, Ring&#8221; are something many associate with Skansen&#8217;s New Year&#8217;s celebration.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"70\" data-end=\"238\">This year, actor and director Helena Bergstr\u00f6m has been given the prestigious and time-honoured role of reading Lord Alfred Tennyson\u2019s poem <em data-start=\"210\" data-end=\"237\">The Bells of the New Year<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"240\" data-end=\"491\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The New Year\u2019s celebration is hosted by Linnea Wikblad and Andr\u00e9 Pops, with Johan Granstr\u00f6m\u2019s orchestra accompanying the evening\u2019s performers. Featured artists include Tommy K\u00f6rberg, Charlotte Perrelli, Greczula, Fanny Avonne, and Tensta Joyful Noise.<\/p>\n<p>While waiting for midnight, you can enjoy two vibrant New Year&#8217;s concerts in Seglora Church at Skansen. Welcome by and listen to fiery baroque music, folk hymns and medieval ballads performed on 30 different instruments.<\/p>\n<p>During the day at Skansen, there&#8217;s also a Christmas market with around 20 market stalls selling delicious food and drinks, delicacies, handicrafts, and design. Children can participate in traditional Christmas crafts, go on an exciting sound walk, follow Santa&#8217;s footsteps among Skansen&#8217;s houses and farms, and visit the animals at Lill-Skansen. <strong>Skansen-Aquarium<\/strong> is also open, where you can explore the exotic animals that lives there.
