Celebrate New Years with us at Royal Djurgården!

Another year is coming to an end, and at Royal Djurgården we will celebrate this in the best way!
Below we have collected some tips for you on how you can spend this magical evening with us.

New Years at Skansen

Celebrate the new year with a magical view of Stockholm.

Since 1894, we have welcomed the new year at Skansen. The first reading of the New Year’s bell the following year was made by Nikolaus Bergendahl, an employee at Skansen.

The New Year celebration is broadcast live on SVT and starts at the Solliden stage at 23.00. The evening is led by Jill Johnsson and Alexander Letic.
There will be songs, music and Tennyson’s poem Nyårsklockan, which this year is read by Reine Brynolfsson.
Artists this year are Lova, Isabella Lundgren and Niklas Gabrielsson Lind, Lena Philipsson, Tusse, Ludwig Hart and Johan Ståhl.

Before that, there will be a New Year’s concert in Seglora church at 22.00.
To attend the concert, you must be able to present a valid vaccination certificate.

Skansen follows the Swedish Public Health Agency’s recommendations and updates the information continuously here.

Lilla Hasselbacken

On New Year’s Eve, Lilla Hasselbacken offers a full evening that starts with a welcome drink and then a three-course New Year’s eve dinner. Entertainment is held by Deri Rowlands with pianist,  also called “Sweden’s answer to Frank Sinatra”.

The package also includes entrance to New Year at Skansen.

Villa Källhagen

For lunch or dinner, you can choose a four-course New Year’s supper or a seafood platter (minimum. 2 persons). At lunch, food from their menu “Always at Källhagen” is also served. At twelve o’clock, you can have a cheer with glass of Champagne on their terrace, with a fantastic view of the Djurgårdsbrunn canal and Nordiska Museet.

Hasselbacken

At Hasselbacken you can start the day with a luxurious brunch, or in the evening, sit-dance the new year in together with Mrs M, that in a Covid-safe way will give you a night of entertainment together with a New Year’s supper in their restaurant.

Villa Godthem

Celebrate the new year at Villa Godthem, where their chef Antonio Molina put together a magical New Year’s menu that begins with canapés, which continue with venison carpaccio, followed by a New Year’s plank with grilled beef fillet, or steamed herb cod. The dinner ends with saffron parfait with citrus mascarpone and cloudberries.

Ulla Winbladh

On New Year’s Eve, the classic restaurant Ulla Winbladh offers its New Year’s supper with Amuse Bouche, whitefish roe, lobster soup, veal fillet Rossini and finally, Ulla’s Chocolate Swiss. They also have a vegan menu.
