Warhol Weekend

Spritmuseum will have a Warhol Weekend to brighten up the cold winter. There will be guided tours, live music, cocktails and lectures from Friday to Sunday.

Friday 24/1:

Cocktails and bar menu in true Warhol spirit. Velvet Underground and similar vibes in the speakers. Guided tour “AW with Andy Warhol” at 6:30 PM with one of our eminent guides (in Swedish).

Saturday 25/1:

14.30: Special tour ”Andy Warhol: Hur hamnade vi här?”  in Sweidsh.

Evening: Live music with the brilliant band Mama Sonic playing the best of the Velvet Underground! After a successful performance during the opening dinner last fall, we’ve been longing for them to come back, and now it’s finally time. They start playing “sometime around 5 p.m.” (typical rock stars).

Sunday 26/1:

All day: shorter intro screenings of about 10-15 minutes in Money on the Wall. There is no extra cost and you can drop in as long as there is space. Intro screenings are held once an hour.

14.00: Spritmuseum Talks: från Warhol till Banksy, with passionate record collector Richard Forrest.

The first record that Richard Forrest bought was Velvet Underground & Nico, 1967. It is not only the music that attracted him, but also the beautiful covers of the records created by famous artists. Today, Richard Forrest has one of the world’s most extensive collections of album covers created by Andy Warhol, several of which can be found in the exhibition. During the conversation, Richard talks about how the collection goes and how to best find rarities, and shows off some records with iconic covers created by artists such as Anton Corbijn, David Shrigley, Banksy, and many more.
