Sharing is Caring – a Taste of Sustainable Djurgården

2026-09-29 — 2026-09-29

On 29 September, it is International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste. At Royal Djurgården, restaurants are marking the day by putting food-waste-smart dishes on the menu – and sharing some of their best tips and ideas.

Over the past year, Djurgården’s restaurants have worked together to learn more about food waste, including by measuring where and how it occurs. Experiences and solutions have been shared between the kitchens, and now some of this knowledge has been gathered in the booklet A Taste of Royal Djurgården – Recipes, Tips and Thoughts on Food Waste.

The booklet is filled with recipes, tips and inspiration from Djurgården’s restaurants – about using the whole ingredient, making the most of leftovers and giving food a better fate than the bin.

On 29 September, enjoy a dish that helps reduce food waste, and take home a free copy of the booklet from these restaurants:

  • Backstage
  • Junibacken
  • Mackverket, Vrak – Museum of Wrecks
  • Nordiska museets restaurang
  • Prinsens kök, Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde
  • Restaurang Eld, The Viking Museum
  • Rosendals trädgård
  • Sjöhistoriskas Café och Bar, Sjöhistoriska museet
  • Tekniska museets restaurang
  • Vasamuseets restaurang

The booklet is also available to pick up at Royal Djurgården Visitor Center and Skansen-Akvariet, and as a pdf-file to download here.
