Double the Thrill: Gröna Lund Takes Home Two European Star Awards

We are so happy for Gröna Lund!

Once again, they have secured a top position on the European amusement park map. At this year’s prestigious European Star Awards in Barcelona, the park was awarded two top honors.

Ikaros claimed first place in the category Best European Thrill Ride – for the second year in a row.

Since its inauguration in 2017, Ikaros has become a must for adrenaline seekers, thanks to its unique tilting drop mechanism.

Pumpen, Gröna Lund’s 2025 novelty, won third place in the category Europe’s Best New Big Attractions.

The new family-friendly yet exhilarating experience has become an instant success. Pumpen, is only the second attraction of its kind in the world – and the first in Northern Europe. It is a giant swing with pumping and pendulum-like motions that create sensations of weightlessness, speed, and free fall.

We’re thrilled for the entire team, who continue to strengthen Gröna Lund’s position as one of Europe’s most innovative amusement parks.

If you didn’t get the chance to try out Pumpen this season, or are seeking an adrenaline thrill with Ikaros you still have a chance. The attractions will be open during Halloween at Gröna Lund – and we can’t think of a better time of the year to let out a little scream as the park transforms to spooky for Halloween.

Check out their schedule here.

Locked inside a dark room where the lines between nightmares and reality are blurry, ask yourself, can you remain in the chair? Welcome between October 13th and November 5th!

If you have nyctophobia or claustrophobia the experience will certainly be memorable. (Rec. age 13)

For the younger visitors there is also a new less frightning experience to try – The Witch’s Trail. Those that wander down the train will encounter suprises such as glittering lights, shadows and pumpkins with terrible dental hygien. The Small Area of Gröna Lund (Lilla Området) is suitable for young visitors and families that have less of a tolerance for scary things but still enjoy the magical feeling of Halloween.

In addition to this the park offers fire shows and parades, ghost hunting for the kids, several haunted houses and incredible decorations one can enjoy while strolling through the areas. Raise your blood pressure with rides or jump scares, the park can be enjoyed during the day or evening pass and regardless of the hour of day it is guaranteed to be a fun visit!
