Skansen
As always Skansen is open during Christmas for both young and old. A trip among the animals can be an appreciated break, maybe gather around the fire and barbeque some sausages, or perhaps listen to Swedish folklore about the Nisse and look for traces among the many houses on Skansen.
Skansen is open for Christmas 23/12-26/12, between kl.10.00-15.00.
Nordiska museet
Take the opportunity to learn more about the Nordic region by your own or in the company of friends and family. “Arctic – while the ice is melting” is a popular and educational exhibition on how climate change is affecting the melting ice in the Arctic. We can also recommend the exhibition Traditions, which tells about our Nordic tradition’s history.
The Nordic Museum has its usual opening hours during Christmas Eve and Day.
Tekniska museet
Step inside from the cold outside and find out what life in March look like! Tekniska’s popular exhibition Moving to Mars tells us if it is possible for humans to move to Mars and what a normal day on the planet might look like. If astronomy is not your biggest interest, we can recommend the exhibition Play beyond Play, which suits the gaming fan perfectly. In the exhibition, you can explore the history of gaming and play your favorite games in an imaginative environment at the exhibition’s gaming stations.
Tekniska is open for on Christmas Eve and Day, between 10.00-15.00.
ABBA The Museum
Visit the ABBA museum and travel back to the 80’s. Look at the band members’ golden records, clothes and original stuff. Experience the feeling of being the fifth band member and how it is to sing in the Polar Studio or dress up in their legendary stage costumes.
ABBA The Museum has its usual opening hours during the Christmas weekend.
The Viking Museum
Find out who the Vikings really were and how they lived with a visit to The Viking Museum. Meet Lefiur in the museum’s living exhibition, a re-created man from the Viking Age who tells his exciting stories about the time. Explore Ragnfrid’s Saga, a Viking journey that begins with Ragnfrid and her husband in Frösala Gård. Also take the opportunity to visit the museum’s restaurant Glöd where you can enjoy a good meal with a modern Nordic feel.
The Viking Museum is open on 25/12 and 26/12.
