Meet us at our tourist information!

06/08/2023

You do know that Royal Djurgården has an authorized tourist information? Just as you cross the Djurgården Bridge, you will find our Royal Djurgården Visitor Center on the right. The island Djurgården is filled with museums, attractions, restaurants and more, it is almost impossible to keep track of everything. In addition, there is something happening at Djurgården every day such as concerts, courses, tours, performances and other things you don’t want to miss. At the Royal Durgården Visitor Center you will meet our knowledgeable informants who know everything and then some, who can guide you through your visit. Whether you are a tourist who wants to know which places are a must during your stay or if you are a Stockholmer who wants to see something completely new, it is perfect to stop by and have a chat.

The Royal Djurgården Visitor Center offers tips and information but also  brochures, maps, newspapers and ticket sales. Here is also a small shop with souvenirs from various museums and also practical things such as sunscreen, umbrellas, tote bags, caps and other things that will help you through a whole day on the island.

Of course, the Royal Djurgården Visitor Center is an authorized tourist information office. This means that we meet Visita’s quality and service requirements. Only these are allowed to use the green/white i-brand that we wear proudly. This is a quality seal that should give you assurance that we offer a high standard of tourism and hospitality. Read more about Visita’s authorization here.

Maps

Southern Djurgården is not small and sometimes it is good to have a proper map. Royal Djurgården has made a map of the island where not only museums and restaurants are marked but also walking/cycling routes, PREKS sculptures, SL stations and more.

Of course, maps of the whole of Stockholm are also offered here. Both simple maps with clear markings for streets, metro stations, etc. but also QX Queermap and magazine which are filled with tips. Something that is also very much appreciated is the Hittaut map, which you can take for free and orientate yourself in the area, maybe find something you wouldn’t otherwise. For those who prefer cycling, there are also Nationalstadsparken’s cycle maps with recommended routes, both as a physical map but also a digital one that shows walking paths and cycle paths around Stockholm for different areas and needs. For those who prefer digital, there is also the “Kungliga promenader” map that guides you through beautiful Rosendal.

Brochures

The tourist information has a large collection of brochures from our attractions and in multiple languages. Perfect for those who want to read a little about each destination. You’ll find information about current exhibitions, maps of their areas, food options and more. Maybe you want to find something new that you didn’t know existed or want to know which one to go to and want to compare the options. Because the tourist information is in the same building as Restaurant Djurgårdsbron, it is perfect to combine your visit with a coffee or some lunch while you gather information and read through everything.

Tickets

You can buy most things on site when you go to our attractions, but the Royal Djurgården Visitor Center actually sells tickets to ABBA the museum, Strömma, Ocean bus and Tours & Tickets. Our informants will help you figure out which tours suit you best and book them for you.

Beside tickets, the center also sell the Cultural Haratige Card. The card costs 300 SEK and is made by Swedish Cultural Heritage. The card gives you 50% on entrances all over the country, including many of those found here at Djurgården. Also take Swedish Cultural Heritage’s magazine and get inspired by all the destinations, maybe you will find something completely new and unexpected?

The shop

First of all, the tourist information is informative, but it also has a small shop. Here you can buy products from several of the shops around  the island, such as tote bags from Rosendal Garden, key chains from ABBA the museum, posters from the Nordic Museum and take-away mugs from Junibacken, which are perfect for the Royal Djurgården coffee campaign.

A day at Djurgården can be long and in the shop you can buy practical things to get you through the day. Umbrella for the rain, cap and sunscreen against the sun or maybe a simple ice cream for a little strength. Here you will also find one of naki’s charging stations where you can rent a power bank.

Accessibility:

  • Behind the tourist office there are 3 free parking spaces for the disabled  with  permit.
  • The tourist information centre is adapted for wheelchairs and prams.
  • The Royal Djurgården Visitor Centre has a defibrillator and trained staff.
