The construction of the incredible Wisdome is complete!

Right by the  National Museum of Science and Technology, the large project Wisdome has been in full swing since February 2022, but now the construction of the building is complete! This is an incredibly advanced build that has pushed the boundaries of what is possible. The building is a whopping 1,325 m2 and has already won awards for the fantastic work behind it and the creative process.

The estimated opening for Wisdome is December 2023 so it’s just around the corner! With a perfect location in the museum park, it will become Stockholms heart for innovation. The goal of the building is to create a scientific and educational center where the world is made understandable. With world-leading technology in visualization and sound, you can create anything. 90% of the information we take in is visual, this makes everything not only possible to grasp and understand but also to remember. It will visualize data, travel through space,  get microscopically close to nature and much more.

The screen in Wisdome is a 2.5 ton heavy dome with a 308 square meter screening area that display in 8K resolution. With 100 seats, this becomes an important center for school classes, visitors, corporate events and much more.

The building itself is a masterpiece from the architectural office Elding Oscarson and it has been a real challenge. The vaulted roof of 48 meters is completely self-supporting with the dome itself below being 12 meters high and about 22 meters in diameter. The project has forced Elding Oscarson to really push the boundaries. Some components have even had to be built to real scale to see if it is possible at all. With the shape, the choice of core pine and the choice of location, you really understand that it has received its  international attention.
