A warm welcome to Handarbetets Vänner School’s annual Christmas market and open house on Djurgården in Stockholm.
Shop for Christmas gifts and enjoy craft art and Advent treats in the historic atmosphere of our pink house on Djurgården.
On November 29 from 10:00–16:00, you’ll have the chance to buy this year’s Christmas gifts made by the school’s students. Fika will be available for purchase, and new this year is that the Christmas market will be held in the Handarbetets Vänner Gallery.
Open House
During the day, Handarbetets Vänner School will open the doors to the classrooms where the next generation of textile and craft artists are trained. Students and teachers will be on site to give tours and talk about our three full-time textile programs: Advanced Textile Craft Education, Textile Craft Foundation Year – Weaving, and Textile Craft Foundation Year – Sewing, as well as our short courses in a wide range of textile craft techniques.

Here you can buy everything from traditional crafts and design to sweets and delicacies, handmade candles, and secret Christmas gifts. You’ll find the Christmas market at Bollnästorget inside Skansen, open Friday–Sunday from November 28 to December 21, 2025. Each day also offers the chance to join in and dance around the Christmas tree at the Bollnästorget dance floor!
The Christmas market is included in the admission ticket, and annual passes are valid. Free entry for children ages 0–15.

This autumn’s major exhibition, Made in Sweden, brings together Swedish wine and cider producers — and their artisanal beverages — in one and the same exhibition for the very first time.
15 beverage farmers, 15 stories, 15 drinks. And the completely unique opportunity to taste them all.
Taste Swedish Wine and Cider
Over the course of a year, food and beverage journalist Per Styregård has visited and documented Swedish beverage farms together with photographer Erik Olsson. In Made in Sweden, they shape a story about hard work, craftsmanship, and passion among Swedish winemakers and cider producers.
The exhibition’s beverage dispensers offer visitors a unique opportunity to taste a wide range of Swedish wines and ciders. In recorded interviews with each producer, visitors can follow a journey where passion and craftsmanship meet.

Nordic Moments showcases one of the Nordic region’s largest collections of historical photography. Through a changing display of images, the exhibition offers personal and cultural perspectives on life in the Nordic countries.
Nordic Moments is presented across seven rooms. Where, themes, photographers, formats and eras shift and evolve in a series of temporary exhibitions. The first main theme Metamorphoses, invites you on a dreamlike journey through memory, time and chemical transformation.
Metamorphoses presents a selection of photographs that have undergone a visual transformation. When around 100,000 photo negatives were damaged by a water leak, a major rescue effort was launched to preserve, restore and digitise them. But in the process, something unexpected happened: new images began to emerge.

When We See Us: A Century of Black Figuration in Painting has been highlighted and acclaimed internationally as one of the most significant exhibitions in contemporary art.
The exhibition features over 148 works from institutional and private lenders located across 16 countries, bringing together artworks from the past 100 years, created by Black artists worldwide. The exhibition places these works in dialogue with Black thinkers, writers, and poets active today.
When We See Us, originally conceived and organized by Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA), has been internationally acclaimed as one of the most significant exhibitions in the world focusing on Black representation and identity. Zeitz MOCAA is a groundbreaking institution in Cape Town, South Africa, dedicated to promoting and preserving contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora.

Nordiska Museet is opening it’s doors wide to celebrate it’s 152nd anniversary and highlight the museum’s long-standing development of this historic building. Designed by architect Isac Gustaf Clason, this architectural masterpiece has welcomed visitors since 1907 and remains one of Stockholm’s most iconic landmarks.
On the museum’s birthday, visitors are invited to explore the museum like never before. Special guided tours will take you through the exhibitions, around the building, and even behind the scenes. The celebration also includes an architecture lecture, engaging discussions, and live entertainment. DJs and live artists from the club The Last Sesh will perform in the museum’s grand central hall—a space originally designed for public festivities.
This unique event is a rare opportunity to experience the museum in a festive atmosphere while discovering the history, architecture, and cultural treasures that make Nordiska Museet a cornerstone of Stockholm’s heritage.

During this year’s Harvest Festival, Rosendals Trädgård’s restaurant Herbarium will open for a special evening featuring a unique menu created by Paul Svensson and head chef Olle Broström.
The menu combines the very best from the garden and forest, together with local ingredients from the Royal Djurgården. A perfect opportunity to experience the flavors of the season in a magical setting!

The Harvest Festival is back! From September 12- 14 Rosendals Trägård will transform into a vibrant marketplace filled with scents, flavors, and inspiration. Over three days, their gardeners, chefs, and growers will present a program where sustainability and taste take center stage.

On 23–24 May 2026, the park comes alive with play, music and a joyful “Tjolahopp tjolahej” atmosphere for the whole family. Enjoy a colourful musical theatre performance at Sollidenscenen and take part in music, market stalls and fun activities inspired by Pippi and other beloved characters from Astrid Lindgren’s stories.
On August 30th, Spritmuseum invites you to the yearly beer festival! Enjoy craft beer from a wide range of Swedish breweries from the north to the south.
The Beer Festival is open all day between 12pm – 5 pm. Tickets include 2 drinking tickets and entrance to the museum. Spots are limited, so grab yours today!
After the festival, the restaurant is open until 10pm, and the museum is open until 8pm. Book a table on the pier or in the beer garden, and don’t miss out on the last chance of viewing the exhibition Money on the Wall: Andy Warhol (open until September 14th).

Enrich your gardening knowledge at the Vasa Museum this summer and learn more about cultivation in the 17th century. The museum’s garden expert is available in the garden every Friday at 10.00-12.00 during June-August, to answer questions and tell you more about what is cultivated and why. For example, mallow, sage and lavender, cabbage and marigolds grow here, which was typical of an urban garden in the 17th century; flowers as well as crops. Welcome!
You can also visit the Vasa Museum’s shop, and buy organic seeds of plants that were grown during the warship Vasa’s time.
The Vasa Museum’s garden:
The garden lies behind the Vasa Museum in the park.
A visit to the Vasa Museum garden is free of charge and it is open all year-round. A perfect place for some rest or for some inspiration for your own plot.
Everything from spices and herbs used in the kitchen in the 17th century to plants used for material production and medicine is grown here, all with a connection to the history of the warship Vasa.
No chemical pesticides are used in the garden. Instead, plants with good resistance to disease and vermin, for example marigolds, are cultivated. Bio-carbon is used in the soil to help it better retain water and nutrients. The many flowers are pretty to look at but also good for pollination.
Tip: Try the Vasa Museum’s new, free audio guide in the garden! Join the garden robot Flora on a guided tour through the garden with your mobile phone. Flora is available via the museum’s website. Click on Start tour under the section Free audio guide with Flora. The guide is available in English and Swedish.
