There is no better way to start your visit to Djurgård than with a good breakfast or brunch. Several of our cafes and restaurants are up and running in the morning and nothing beats the smell of freshly baked goods! Some also have events such as live jazz, drag show karaoke, quizzes and other fun things that make your brunch experience unique. Here are some tips with some of those who serve breakfast and brunch that you don’t want to miss.

Breakfast at Djurgården

Konsthallen

Nothing beats starting your day at Djurgården than with a good breakfast before everything opens. When you hop off the Djurgård ferry in the heart of island, you will find Konstallen which offers a proper breakfast buffet. Freshly baked bread, perfect eggs, crispy bacon and fresh fruit. Konsthallen’s breakfast starts already at 07.00.

Slipen

Sit down by the water or by the sunny windows with a freshly baked pastry and relax at Slipen. Stenungsbakery Fabrique at Slipen opens as early as 07.00 on weekdays and 08.00 on weekends so you can sit in peace and quiet with freshly baked breakfast and hot coffee. When the weather permits, it is perfect to buy breakfast to take away and enjoy it in the green.

Skroten Matbod & Deli

How about a refreshing juice? A good bun? Or maybe a lighter salad? Skroten Matbod & Deli opens at 08.00 and has a good and mix of food. Not only do they have their own meals and snacks, there is also a small convenience store where you can buy your own ingredients for your breakfast at home or on the go.

Restaurant Djurgårdsbron

Just across the bridge over to Djurgården, you will find restaurant Djurgårdsbron restaurant which opens as early as 09.00 in the morning and is the perfect start before you continue towards the island where museums and attractions open around 10.00. Enjoy a good breakfast sandwich, hot latte or a salmon croissant in front of the beautiful view of the Djurgård bridge and the canal.

Flickorna Helin Skånska Gruvan

After a short walk along the water from the blue gate by the Djurgården bridge, you will arrive at the cozy Flickorna Helin Skånska Gruvan, which opens at 09.00. There is a wide range of home-baked pastries, buns, sandwiches, juices and smoothies. During the summer months, they open up their lovely outdoor dining area, which has one of Stockholm’s most beautiful views over the Djurgård Canal.

Hasselbacken

Djurgården has a fantastic range of brunches to bring all your loved ones to. At the historic Hasselbacken, you will find a high-quality brunch ranging from international classics to the well-known Hasselbacken potatoes. Also, keep an eye on their calendar and time their DJ brunches.

POP story

On the other side of the street, you will find POP story, which offers drag shows and karaoke as well as music quizzes along with their brunches. Interactive brunches that you won’t soon forget with dancing, laughter and singing.

Restaurant at Spritmuseum

During Saturdays and Sundays, you can enjoy real brunch classics at Spritmuseum’s restaurant. Here you will find everything from scrambled eggs and salmon sandwiches to pancakes and fruit salad. With this brunch, you can of course expect luxurious cocktails, Swedish wine, craft beer and non-alcoholic drinks, a place where you never go thirsty.

Villa Godthem

Even if afternoon tea does not count as brunch, it is still a must to visit Villa Godthem and their Afternoon Tea. There you can enjoy several types of warming tea, sandwiches, sweets and perhaps a glass of champagne.

Skroten Café & Skeppshandel

Skroten Café & Skeppshandel is the perfect place to treat yourself to brunch. Here you can choose between mushroom toast, American pancakes, chevre salad, sandwiches and a lot of other tasty things. From time to time, Skroten also has jazz brunches. Keep an eye out for when the next one is approaching and take part in their brunch buffet together with fantastic live jazz.
