20/02/2024No matter what time of day you visit Royal Djurgården, you never have to go hungry. From an early breakfast to a late dinner, here you do not need to leave the island. Here you will find our tips on where you can eat and drink from morning to night.

Breakfast at Djurgården
Konsthallen
Nothing beats starting your day at Djurgården than a good breakfast before everything open. When you get off the SL ferry in the heart of Djurgården, you will find Konsthallen, which offers a proper breakfast buffet. Freshly baked bread, perfect eggs, crispy bacon and fresh fruit. Konsthallen’s breakfast starts at 07.00.
Slipen
Sit by the water with a freshly baked pastry or bread at Slipen. The bakery Fabrique in Slipen opens as early as 07.00 on weekdays and 08.00 on weekends so you can sit in peace and quiet with freshly baked breakfast and hot coffee. When the weather permits, it is perfect to buy breakfast to take away and enjoy it in the green.

Djurgårdsbron
Just over the bridge you will find Djurgårdsbron, which opens at 09.00 in the morning and is the perfect start before you continue towards the island where museums and attractions open around 10.00. Enjoy a good breakfast sandwich, hot latte or a salmon croissant in front of the beautiful view over the bridge and Strandvägen.
Brunch at Djurgården
Hasselbacken
Djurgården has a fantastic range of brunches to bring your loved ones to. At the historic Hasselbacken, you will find a high-quality brunch ranging from international classics to the well-known Hasselbacken potatoes. Also keep an eye on their calendar and time their DJ brunches.
POP story
On the other side of the street, you will find POP story, which offers drag shows and karaoke as well as music quizzes with its brunches. Interactive brunches that you won’t soon forget with dancing, laughter and singing.
Spritmuseum’s restaurant
During Saturdays – Sundays you can enjoy real brunch classics at Spritmuseum’s restaurant. Here you will find everything from scrambled eggs and salmon sandwiches to pancakes and fruit salad. For this brunch, you can of course expect luxurious cocktails, Swedish wine, craft beer and non-alcoholic drinks, a place where you never go thirsty.
Villa Godthem
Even if afternoon tea does not count as brunch, it is still a must to visit Villa Godthem and their Afternoon Tea. There you can enjoy several types of warming tea, sandwiches, sweets and perhaps a glass of champagne.

Lunch at Djurgården
Mackverket – Vrak
Djurgården is packed with fantastic lunch spots and you just have to pick and choose. For example, at beautiful Djurgårdsstrand you will find perfect lunches. At Mackverket – Vrak, you can enjoy magical tasty sandwiches. Creative flavors in fresh sourdough bread that suit everyone. Eat on site or take the sandwich with you and enjoy the sunny harbour.
Restaurant Eld
Right next door you will find Restaurant Eld with a fantastic view and food inspired by Nordic and Arctic flavors. In addition to their fixed menu, you can also enjoy their menu of the day, which varies according to season, ingredients and is only available while supplies last, a sustainalble lunch. Along with this, you obviously have to try their different types of mead, just like a real Viking.

Blå porten and Blå+
Blå porten is close to many of our attractions, parks and museums. Step into the green garden and eat warm home cooking with elements from the Mediterranean. The restaurant’s sister Blå + offers a completely vegetarian menu with flavors from all corners of the world.
Daily lunch
Several of the restaurants on Djurgården have ‘Dagens Lunch’, which means that no two visits are the same. Some of those who have daily lunches are:
Djurgårdsbron, Skroten, Lilla Hasselbacken, Nordiska museets restaurang, Slipen and Sjöhistoriska Café och bar.
Snack at Djurgården
Skroten Matbord & Deli
Sometimes the days can be long and you want something between meals. At Skroten Matbord & Deli you will find high and low. This is a lovely mix of convenience store and restaurant/café. Great if you want something smaller or maybe to take with you to a cozy picnic, the perfect break.
Kenny’s Gelato
On Djurgårdsstrand you will find Kenny’s Gelato in the summer. Kenny’s varies its flavors daily and always comes up with new creative ice creams that cool off perfectly in the sun. No wonder they are Swedish champions with their delicious gelato!
Evening drink at Djurgården
Spritmuseum
Many come to Djurgården to have a drink with friends or maybe even a date. In the summer there will be an AW at sunset and during the colder seasons there will be a glass before enjoying a show at Cirkus Arena. Professionals on drinking is of course Sweden’s tastiest museum – Spiritmuseum. Try the staff’s own cocktails, Swedish wines, craft beer or a fresh cider. At Spritmuseum, you can also have your own little tasting with their tasting trays. Choose between Swedish classics, schnapps, absolute vodka, beer or anything else that strikes your fancy.

Hasselbacken
The enchanting venue mixed with tasty drinks makes Hasselbacken a perfect place to meet over a cocktail. Here you can sit for a long time and try their classics, own specials or just a good glass of wine.
Djurgårdsbron
During the summer season, the given choice is the island’s sunniest patio – Djurgårdsbron. Here you can sip on fresh drinks in the warm evening sun. At Djurgårdsbron, it’s not just sun that’s on offer, here there’s also live music, an outdoor cinema and a festival in the summer. They are open as long as the sun and guests are out.

Aira
Even in the evening, Djurgården is full of life and has several dinner options before you go to a concert, after a museum visit or just want to treat yourself to a festive meal out. It is even the case that we have award-winning restaurants here on the island. Aira was recently been awarded another Michelin star and continues to serve world-class food with chefs Tommy Myllymäki and Pi Le at the helm. A dining experience of the highest quality.
Wärdshuset Ulla Winbladh
Classic Ulla Winbladh started as a steam bakery back in the 19th century and has later been transformed into the restaurant we know today. Ulla Winbladh has preserved Swedish cuisine and become one of Stockholmers’ most loved restaurants. A classic menu that is frequented by theme weeks and food events.
Konsthallen
If you are looking for the best the sea has to offer, Konsthallen has the dinner for you. Seafood stew, oysters, roe chips or their tasty toast skagen. Of course they have other goodies such as risotto or baked steak. With a stone’s throw from the theater at Cirkus, concerts at Gröna Lund or sing-alongs and jazz at Skansen, it is the perfect restaurant to combine your evening pleasures with.

Slipen
Slipen doesn’t just open early in the morning for breakfast, here they close at 11 p.m., which means you’re always welcome, regardless of the time of day. Slipen’s menu offers everything from steak to gnocci and other classics, but also an incredible range of desserts. With its sunny large windows, tasteful decor, good food and vintage boats hanging from the ceiling, you’ll never want to leave.
