Vibrant. Learning. Healing. Connected. Join us on a journey along the pathways of knowledge, starting at Campus Albano and continuing into the National City Park. What can we learn from the park about building a more sustainable society? Let’s Discover Albano.
For centuries, the park has been a mosaic of activities, institutions, and natural habitats, seemingly independent of one another. Yet, they are deeply connected—threads weaving between past and present, between people and nature. The National City Park is a hub of knowledge and dynamic learning. Over 20 years ago, a framework for studying cities as socio-ecological systems was established here, offering insights into the park’s role in an evolving Stockholm and guiding the search for more sustainable urban futures. One example of this is Campus Albano itself, where researchers, universities, interest groups, and experts collaborated to shape a vision of how a university campus can serve as a driving force for urban sustainability.
Join us and listen—you may find yourself seeing Stockholm in a whole new light.
The tour is led by Professor Erik Andersson (Stockholm and Helsinki Universities), Professor Stephan Barthel (University of Gävle), Professor Henrik Ernstson (KTH), and Maria Braaf, Property Manager at Akademiska Hus.

Meeting point: The green circular area at the corner of Roslagsvägen/Greta Arwidsson’s väg

Join us at the Vasa Museum for a fascinating talk on cultural history while enjoying a classic afternoon tea. Serving starts at 15:00 and the talk starts at 15:30.
When the Vasa sank in August 1628, around 30 people perished and followed the ship into the depths. According to a letter to Axel Oxenstierna, they were both boatmen and their wives and children, who wanted to come to Vaxholm.
Who was it that wanted to join the journey? There is much to suggest that women were a common sight on warships and that boatmen’s wives played an important role in the Swedish navy. Anna Maria Forssberg, Associate Professor of History and researcher at the Vasa Museum, talks about the latest research findings on the people who died on the Vasa, as well as about the life of boatswain’s families in Sweden in the 17th century.
Afternoon tea platter: Tea or coffee with scones, butter, jam, cheese, chocolate cannonball and fruit. A glass of bubbly can be purchased on site.
In Swedish.

A warm welcome to the Museum of Technology and the new exhibition The Forest, which is about man’s relationship with the forest. It takes you on a journey through seven different themes. From life in the forest and the benefits of trees, human well-being in nature to how we use it and what is produced from wood.
In the Forest at the Museum of Technology, visitors walk along paths that wind around trees and rolling hills, with quiet places to sit down, listen to the music of the forest and watch the sun set over the lake. The forest at Tekniska is a place to experience, reflect and just be. At the same time, it is a thought-provoking story that asks questions and gives perspective on the forest issue.
Come and write a greeting to someone you love at the Maritime Museum on Valentine’s Day when they are visited by artist Karin Rosenquist-Schager!
For many centuries, the crew of long-distance voyages could only communicate home by means of letters and postcards. In the Maritime History Archive there are several love letters and Valentine’s cards from sailors of bygone days.
During Valentine’s Day we will show some unique Valentine’s cards from our collections. Afterwards there will be a workshop in modern calligraphy, together with the artist Karin Rosenquist-Schager, also known as Love STHLM. We’ll be in the Sjöhistoriska Café & Bar, so you can eat or drink something good in the meantime.
Invite your friends or date to a workshop you will never forget. Be inspired by the old Valentine’s cards and write your own beautiful love letters.

Today, Richard Forrest has one of the world’s most extensive collections of album covers created by Andy Warhol, several of which can be found in the exhibition. During the conversation, Richard talks about how the collection goes and how to best find rarities, and shows off some records with iconic covers created by artists such as Anton Corbijn, David Shrigley, Banksy, and many more.
One of the strongest signs of spring is of course the Spring Salon at Liljevalchs and it opens its doors on February 14th!
The Spring Salon kicks off the art spring and has been a pillar of Stockholm’s art world for 100 years. This year it is filled with 282 works of art from 177 different artists. The jury has carefully selected pieces from around four thousand applications and created a varied and exciting collection of paintings, photographs, sculptures, installations and a wide range of other interesting artworks.
Last year, we saw that increasingly younger artists are applying to the Spring Salon and this year Liljevalchs will also showcase the next generation of artists. Those accepted are from 18 years old to 79 years old and come from all corners of Sweden.
The Spring Salon opens on February 14th and runs until April 27th. Read more here.
